It was a good run. One of the greats hanging them up. Wish we could have seen him in the UFC for a fight or two. Happy to say I saw him fight live, in person twice. Once against Rogers, and Hendo. Glad I was able to witness one of the greatest fighters of all time throw down.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.

I really wish he would sign a 1 fight contract with the UFC so he could actually knock out Werdum and redeem that fluke loss. Fedor is the greatest fighter in history, I will miss him.

WAR FEDOR FOREVER!!!
I bet you guys didn't know that I was the official sponsor of Fedor's crotch back in those days.
My hat is off to Fedor, it was a love/hate relationship but his contribution to the sport can't be questioned and he leaves a legacy that few will ever match.

Matt Lindland was ROBBED against Fedor in 2007....the judges were drunk off Vodka in St. Petersburg, Russia!
he got robbed of a takedown because Fedor held the ropes but to say Lindland would have won the fight because of it is a HUGE stretch. I wanted Matt to win as bad as anyone but come on
Matt Lindland and Chael Sonnen were training partners, of course he is going to stand up for Lindland, I mean.....he knows the guy.....even if it is all in his head

I think its the right thing to do. He truely was the greatest HW of his time. I just wish he would have fought in the UFC at least once back when he was in his prime. I think his legacy could have been so much more if he had better managers.

Why can't Fedor just take his daughters with him? I mean it worked out well for Mark Col....oh wait.

Sad day in the world of MMA. Fedor was the greatest heavyweight and one of the greatest fighters of all time. Win or lose the man always carried himself with the outmost dignity and treated his opponents with nothing but respect. Long live and all hail The Last Emperor.

Best heavyweight of his era sure, but best of all time??? I feel like Hendo, Silva, and Werdum sort of killed that idea. Now nobody and I mean NOBODY can take away all that Fedor has done for the sport. Without him we literally wouldn't know mma as it exists now, but the biggest travesty in my mind about the entire situation is the fact that his management protected him for the last 5 years of his career and didn't allow him to make the decisions he needed to make in order to cement his legacy in the eyes of even the most casual of fans. He has the talent to be so much more than a great fighter for the four years he was in pride....I said has on purpose btw because I still think with the right camp and management he could soar as a light heavyweight fighter....I can't see him as one of the best heavyweights of all time because of the way he was beaten by silva, and then a not even heavyweight hendo, but I can definitely appreciate what he did in his day. The thing that sucks more than anything is the fact that ole vlad screwed him out of an even great legacy than he has currently achieved. I don't mean to take away from Fedor, he's been a tremendous fighter, but M-1 has taken some very precious prestige from the last emperor.
