Like they say in the commercials for the New York Lotto: Hey, you never know. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has asked two of its best lightweight wrestlers, Gray Maynard vs. Clay Guida, to headline its upcoming UFC on FX 4 event scheduled for the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 22, 2012. And with 17 decision wins between them, a knockout or technical knockout (TKO) finish would probably come as a surprise to most mixed martial arts (MMA) fans. It wouldn't surprise Guida, however, as he tells Low Kick that he's "fixed the holes in his wrestling game," which suggests this fight could play out on its feet. Where does that leave "The Carpenter" if he pulls it off?

Althought i see Clay putting up his usual spirited effort, Gray should be able to control the fight and get the UD win. It's actually is a pretty interesting fight

I could see it.
Originally I thought Gray UD, but then remembered it was 5 rounds and I'm starting to think Guida.

Id also like to give guida an advantage in the standup departent. If he returns to his jungle japes roots like he did with gomi, i think he can be succesful in keeping gray guessing and missing. He just needs to keep the high kicks to a minimum or he'll be butt scooting to the cage all night.

Coming from a guy who has KO'd 1 guy in the ufc, that made me laugh. Guida has no chance of KO Maynard.
I won't be surprised if this is the most boring fight of all time.
Maynard UD for sure

People said the same thing about Frankie. No way Edgar would knockout Maynard, right? You just never know.
As for conditioning, I'd give the edge to Guida, but Maynard isn't a fish out of water in the later rounds. In his first fight with Edgar he lost a good amount of energy in the first round but even in the 5th round I didn't consider him gassed. Tired, of course. Gassed, no. Funny thing is, Maynard is the one whose been past three rounds. Don't think Guida has.

Guida might also have the adv standing and he will have the speed adv and does have some wrestling/grappling to hang.

I still don't understand how Clay and Jason Guida came from the same gene pool.

If there is a knockout in this fight I kind of got this feeling Clay will be the one knocked out.
I personally think that Gray should take the decision but anything is possible.
