Retire from the sport? Pffft, I'll do you one better and retire from life.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz has gone on record saying that win, lose or draw, he will retire after his trilogy fight against Forrest Griffin at UFC 148 on July 7, 2012.

After splitting their first two encounters, Tito and Forrest will collide in "Sin City" to see who walks away the winner of their series and Ortiz, for one, would love nothing more than to ride off into the sunset with a victory, to go along with his UFC Hall of Fame induction, which will take place prior to the event.

Not one to be outdone, the always quirky and entertaining Griffin says that should he lose to "The People's Champ" over the Fourth of July weekend, he won't walk away from the sport, but will retire from life altogether.

How about you both retire after this fight and make it a blackout fight, so we don't have to see it. An unaired prelim.

I can ACTUALLY see Griffin losing if and ONLY if Tito utilizes the takedown effectively.

Easier said then done I suppose

Agreed. Forrest is about done. Seems like his chin has deteriorated significantly.

Neither fighter has looked very impressive as of late, but I suspect Griffin will win by UD. Ortiz did look good against Bader but has since been broken. Evans' knee to the chest and Nogueira's attack to the body were both very good indicators of where Ortiz is at. Either way I look forward to watching Ortiz's last fight in the Octagon.

Wow, why all the hate on Forrest? Given he is near the end of his career but the guy has never really done anything to make people not like him.....whereas there is a long list of things Tito has done. There a still a few matches I wouldn't mind seeing Forrest in before he calls it a career. glad Tito is finally hangin em up.

This was a joke guys.

Forrest Griffin is an extremely funny guy. I read both his books and they had me laughing out loud.

The best part is that his humor is self deprecating and clever. Unlike Chael Sonnen who is just insulting and rude (IMO at least).

Yeah, Forrest tweets about the hilarity of children getting cancer, but Chael's a dick.

EDIT: Here's the "clever" humor you were talking about

Rape is the new missionary.

“Met a kid with cancer he seemed happier then me. Instead of asking myself why Im so miserable I though whats that dumbass got to be so … Happy about doesn’t he know he got fin cancer”
