The UFC bolstered its bantamweight division recently with the signing of Bibiano Fernandes.

There was just one one problem, though. According to Fernandes, he never signed with the promotion. Fernandes was expected to face Roland Delorme next month at UFC 149 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Fernandes, according to UFC.com, was expected to face Roland Delorme next month at UFC 149. But the promotion recently removed Fernandes from that bout on the site – though as of late Tuesday morning, a fighter profile page for him still exists there.

This is a very odd situation. Most the time guys are more than happy to sign with the UFC and I figured that was the case here where he has the chance to really legitimize the BW class. He may just be playing the game to get a better offer since he said that ONEFC offered more money.

There also could be a situation with DREAM. Japanese business is all about saving face and they still deny they've gone out of business. They might be pulling a dick move by holding him to a contract so they can pretend they're still in business.

you're right, that would be a dick move but I'm sure he would voice his displeasure if that was the case but we wouldn't know for a few more days

I guess better than an injury, but only if he signs with UFC.

Why did he wait a week instead of immediately refuting claims he was signed by the UFC? Why didn't the UFC or Dana refute claims if he wasn't actually signed? Weird.

I'm surprised he didn't wait two weeks with how much play his name was getting, lol.
