...Even stranger to me is Stann and Lombard being the headliner over Machida vs Bader...

Stann/Lombard probably has title implications, while Machida/Bader does not.

only reason i can think of

I wouldn't be shocked if Griggs pulled something out here

But the point is it shouldn't have even been made in the first place...pretty ludicrous to put a top 10 LHW against a guy like Griggs who is a pure brawler.

Neither fighter deserves the other right now.

High potential for another boring fight in the FOX format without the offsetting fighter name recognition to overcome it.

Stupid matchmaking.

Thats a pre hurtin fight for someone being welcomed to the division but if Griggs can pull off his underdog role win he'll project himself right into the mix but very doubtful of that happening

I think what most people are overlooking here is that thanks to stupid negotiations on behalf of strikeforce Griggs is making some pretty good money, look at the UFC 145 payouts he made more then Browne. If you take that into account you know the ufc brass isn't going to give Griggs any easy fights & make him earn his pay.

If you're Griggs you have to love this though, his first LHW fight he gets a top 10 guy. Griggs wont be outsized in the match and deffinately has the power to drop any LHW he puts hands too. Davis is improving in his standup but still gets hit enough that he shouldn't try on testing it with Griggs or he'll get KO'd. I'll glady take the betting odds on Griggs.
