You may know the name, even if you don't know the fighter.

But teenage MMA prospect Sergio Pettis believes he could be just a couple away fights away from joining big brother and former WEC champion Anthony Pettis under the bright lights of the UFC.

"I'm thinking like two or three more fights maybe, but I don't want to go into the UFC not fully prepared," he told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). "I don't want to look like a slouch. I want to look like a Jon Jones of my division.

"I want to come in confident. People are going to be amazed at what I can throw. I'm taking my time. I'm young. A have a lot of time ahead. But we'll see what Duke says."

"Duke," of course, is veteran trainer Duke Roufus. He's also a fight promoter, and on Friday, Pettis (3-0) drops from bantamweight to flyweight for his co-headliner with Chris Haney (3-3) at "NAFC: Colosseum" at Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee.

If he can win in his Flyweight debut, I can definitely see him getting into the UFC within 2-3 fights. His 3 wins so far are all stoppages.

Definitely. I think 2 would be the magic number, if it goes past 1. The UFC has much to gain by marketing the two of them concurrently, as well as expanding the flyweight division.

I'll be there tomorrow, and I expect Sergio to win handily and get to the big leagues quickly. The Pettis boys should be at or near the top of the sport for a long time to come.

I'd like to see him grow a bit more. He's going to win his fight this weekend and then I'd like to see him give Tachi Palace a shot while they still have some of the best Flyweights on the planet. It would do him wonders to fight guys like Darrell Montague, Dustin Ortiz, Mamoru Yamaguchi and Jussier da Silva before entering the UFC. Their Flyweight division is really small and really stacked right now.

Sergio dominated last night after some early bullying by his opponent and won a UD. His striking was flashy and he just battered the other guy in the last two frames. He's going to be a force with a little more seasoning.
