Brian Stann (12-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC) will serve as the UFC's welcoming committee for longtime Bellator champion and recent UFC signee Hector Lombard (31-2-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

UFC president Dana White today tweeted the Stann vs. Lombard matchup but didn't reveal a date for it. MMAjunkie.com later confirmed the targeted event.

UFC on FOX 4 takes place Aug. 4 at Los Angeles' Staples Center. In addition to the FOX-televised main card, FUEL TV is expected to carry the prelims.

agreed. i never thought much of lombard except for his power. i think stann has tighter boxing and with his reach can probably pick hector apart. stann has a good chin too, im sure hector will probably test it, but i think stann will get the UD or late round TKO

I'll probably end up picking Stann but if he tries to brawl it out like he did with Sakara and throw caution to wind it could be a short night for him.

Perfect fight for both guys. I love Stann but it would be great to see Lombard live up to hype and come in here and smash guys

I don't think much of Lombard as far as being a contender in the MW division is concerned, but he does have great Judo. He's been getting by with his power and striking against the cans he's been fighting, but a matchup with Stann could awaken his dormant Judo skills. I'll still probably pick Stann though

This is Lombard's opportunity to take the Jake Shields route to a title shot, I think he has a good shot at beating Stann or anybody for that matter but I see him losing to lesser competition just as often, because he relies on power so much, might make the most of his initial push but probably just another above average but not Anderson middleweight.

Good Matchup IMO, I think these guys will put on a good fight that won't go to a decision. Someone is going to sleep, not sure who yet

sick match up ! never really liked lombard ever since i read a story, where he was grappling with ufc ww jacob volkmann and volkman was getting the better of him. lombard got angry and when the two separated he punched volkmann in the face with no gloves, rocking and cutting him open ! volkmann has said he did nothing to provoke lombard at all.
