It's well-known by now that Dan Henderson is waiting for a shot at a UFC belt. Whether it's at middleweight, light heavyweight, or even heavyweight, Hendo wants to get another chance at that one thing that has eluded him in his storied career. In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Hendo made it pretty clear that he doesn't need a rematch with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, and that he's more interested in the winner of Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans at UFC 145 (transcribed by MMA Mania):

Makes sense. He's older now, I don't see why he would want to cut weight at this point if he can hang with the best at 205.

Well Hendo hasn't really earned a MW title shot, so just stay at LHW and fight winner of LHW title fight.

And then let's end this talk of him getting a MW title shot or even fighting JDS.

In other words "i'm only fighting Jones or Evans and that will shrink to 1 after they scrap"

Never thought about that fight. That'd be awesome though.

I agree, but I highly doubt Anderson would take a fight with him at 205 giving the fact how Hendo has been doing at that weight.

Silva would have no problem fighting Hendo at LHW..just look at the first match, Silva made Hendo look like a noob..and i'm sure he'll do it again at LHW..Silva knows no matter what weight class Hendo is in, all he has is that right hand..thats too easy for someone like Silva to predict..why do u think he walkd thru Hendo so easy the first time around..just cuz he's in LHW doesnt mean he fights differently..i wouldnt think bout pickin Hendo in a rematch at LHW..imho, that wouldnt be a wise pick..

I wonder how many more times MMA media is going to try to pass the fact that Hendo No longer wants to fight a 185 off as news. Give it a rest we read it every week it seems.

To some degree, I wouldn't be surprised if fighting Fedor at HW hurt as well though. Once you move up in weight, it's really hard to go back down, just ask Roy Jones Jr.

He never moved up in weight for the Fedor fight, he put on 3lbs basically.
