The UFC has always prided itself on keeping its ear to the pulse of the fans. In the coming weeks, we're about to see just how far that dedication goes.

Following the announcement of Alistair Overeem's failed drug test, a new surprise candidate for UFC 146's title shot has emerged. Led by a burgeoning #RallyForMarkHunt crusade that shows no sign of slowing, former K-1 champion Mark Hunt and his ‘Army of Doom' have besieged the MMA community, bombing the social networks of Dana White, Lorenzo Feritta, and anyone else with a say in the UFC's decision making process, in the hopes of awarding "Super Samoan" a shot at the UFC heavyweight strap.

How could you not root for Hunt? I would love to see him get the shot and more so to actually win and I think he's certainly got the punchers chance to do it. It would be MMA's cinderella story no doubt.
Realisticly, I think JDS would probably unload too many combinations for Hunt to deal with but man,I do think Hunt would have a chance. Even if just a slight one.

I like Hunt but in reality he doesn't deserve a title shot yet. If he gets two more wins then maybe a title shot is in line....but for right now...I just don't think he has done enough to warrant it.

I think I would cheer for JDS over pretty much any UFC heavy at the moment.... except Mark Hunt.

If Hunt finally gets this title fight I'm gonna cheer for him like I have for no other.

in reality, what has Hunt done to receive a title shot?..i like the guy and all..but just 3 wins again mid tier fighters, imo, doesnt deserve a shot..i hate the dude, but i think Mir will have a much much better chance to have a turn at JDS..either way..err'one is gon get KTFO by JDS anyways...

I think Hunt is a better striker than JDS, I'd take him all day in a stand up fight. Of course I also thought Lesnar was going to maul Cain

God damn! i'd jizz in my pants if Hunt was given the shot. I rekon he'd give Dos Santos a run for his money.
