This tournament will operate the same as the HW tournament did with the exception being the starting matchups. This tournament is a random draw style instead of a seeded roster. I took the top 32 lightweights from the UFC's roster according to fightmagazine.com (and swapped BJ Penn in for the irrelevant Paul Taylor) and then randomized the list using random.org

The tournament will play out like so:

Opening Round:
Match A: Fighter 1 v Fighter 2
Match B: Fighter 3 v Fighter 4
Match C: Fighter 5 v Fighter 6
Match D: Fighter 7 v Fighter 8
etc....

Second Round:
Match 1: Winner of Match A v Winner of Match B
Match 2: Winner of Match c v Winner of Match D
etc.........

Third Round:
Match A: Winner of Match1 v Winner of Match 2
etc...

And so on until we are down to the final two

Melvin Guillard v Mark Bocek Seems like it could be the "hot event" to me.I'd really be interested in the UFC booking that one.

Sean Sherk vs. Jim Miller would seem like a good test to see if Miller can beat what would seem like a stronger wrestler but then again Sherk these days likes to throw and he hasn't been seen for a loooong time now.

This tournament is a constant reminder to me that Penn should be at Lightweight.

I personally feel as though Sotiropolous would have beasted on Guida once it hit the ground.

I'm surprised so many went with Pettis, would've thought it would have been the most competitive bout from this round. Also a tad surprised with how many people went with Jim Miller.
