The Cage Warriors FC roster continues to expand, with the organisation pleased to announce that it has secured the services of former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver.

Pulver has signed a deal which will see him fight exclusively for CWFC outside of the USA. The 37-year-old will also travel to Cage Warriors events to host seminars and meet-and-greet sessions with fans.

A native of Washington, Pulver (25-16-1) was the UFC’s first lightweight champion having defeated Caol Uno to take the title in February 2001. He successfully defended the belt against both Dennis Hallman and BJ Penn. Pulver was a coach on Season 5 of The Ultimate Fighter and also has a wealth of experience on other top promotions such as Pride FC and WEC.

I hope he is signed more for the seminars and meet n' greets. He had a sub-par run since his WEC release going 3-3, but that last loss was a KO loss, that just crumbled him, I rather not see up and comers trying to make a name for themselves against Pulver.

He must be needing money. I wish he would really retire. He is just going to get hurt now.

I like the move. He matches up well with quite a few CW LW's as their skills aren't as well rounded where the UFC's talent level had passed him by, even if by nothing other than age. I don't want to see him hang em up. Pulver can still compete at a high level outside the UFC.

My thoughts exactly. I love Pulver and what's he's done in the sport but he's losing a lot more than he's winning lately.

Pulver fell behind because he failed to evolve.

His skills didn't deteriorate and it isn't an age thing.

The guy simply refused to put any serious effort into improving his ground game. I know from first hand experience.
