Ratings were down for the second episode of "The Ultimate Fighter: Live" on FX, and they weren't much better for Bellator 61 on MTV2.
Bellator's March 16 broadcast averaged just 108,000 viewers, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with industry sources.
To date, MTV2 has aired 27 Bellator events, and only one – Bellator 53, which drew 103,000 viewers this past October – drew a smaller audience.
Bellator 61 took place at Horseshoe Riverdome in Bossier City, Louisiana. In addition to the MTV2-televised main card, prelims streamed live on Spike.com.
The event, which was the second show of Bellator's sixth season, featured the opening round of an eight-man middleweight tournament. The star of the show was Brian Rogers, who scored a flying-knee knockout of Vitor Vianna. He'll be joined in the tourney's semifinals by Maiquel Falcao, Vyacheslav Vasilevsky and Bruno Santos, who also won opening-round fights at Bellator 61...

Friday nights belong to TUF now. I wish the UFC weren't complete dicks and kept the show on Wednesdays (there is nothing on TV on Wednesdays outside the odd hockey or basketball game) rather than moving it to Friday night

Bellator is moving to Spike soon though right? Once they ditch MTV2 and move on to Spike I'm sure we will see a ratings spike, no pun intended.

true, but they will still draw less than a reality show with one fight than a tournament style event with 4-5 fights shown

I understand that their gonna make the move to Spike but they need to spice it up a bot, get people talking. Outside of their champs, they dont have a lot of guys that get me excited. Only my view tho

Loss the main event didn't help. Along with TUF and March Madness.
Definitely need to move to spike soon.
Bjorn said he is not getting rid of the tourney's. Will eventually have to make some changes though.

It might help if they didn't stream the entire event on spike.com prior to the MTV2 taped replay.

but that pun was clearly intended, liar. Bellator will do much better on many other networks, especially spike. I don't know how much advertising they do on mtv2, but I don't know how much of the mtv2 audience would be interested in a fighting commercial in between episodes of teen mom, so the point may be moot as it is. Spike will advertise and they will be advertising to the correct demographic. I see their numbers improving in the future.

Exactly, I watched the whole event on Spike.com. No sense in waiting 3 hours to watch what's streaming legally on the computer. And if it wasn't streaming legally on Spike.com I still would've found other means than waiting hours for MTV2. It's always a horrible decision for a network to tape delay sporting events. I'll never understand why they still do it.
