There's been lots of hooplah about Sylvia trying to get back into the UFC, but he just did something that I think is pretty badass.
In a video to fans, he said if he gets back into the UFC, he'll pick a fan to be in his corner...that's pretty sweet regardless if you love or hate him

It's cool and all that he would do that. But to me it just seems like a publicity stunt.

It would be funny to see him make a comeback like Hunt and fans go from to

I was more like or than with Hunt, but big Tim was never likeable like Hunt. He tries too hard and he's not quite hip

his next thing will be begging on his knees. come on man, former ufc heavy weight champions dont beg. he needs to prove hes ready to be back in the ufc by racking up a string of wins over notable opponents.

I always liked Tim Sylvia. He used to be a destroyer, and in his prime was easily one of the best HWs in the world. He's gone far downhill since but how awesome would it be to see him come back and get some solid wins before he calls it a career?

1. not a fan of Tim Sylvia 2. totally a publicity stunt 3. please tell me im not the only mma fanboy that can look beyond points 1 and 2 and would jump at the opportunity, if it was given to me.
im not a fighter. i dont train. i have only been to 3 total events above the amateur level. i would jump at the opportunity to get that close to the cage & possibly get my pic taken in the cage after the fight. there's a couple of fighters i dislike to the point i would not do this, but Tim is not one of them.

Oh I'm right with you. I train a pro fighter and its so much fun Walking to the cage getting yelled at by the comish for standing. That one thing people might not know if your cornering a guy you have to stay seated until the bell sounds. There is someone from the commision right beside you and the moment your ass comes off the chair they are on you like flies on shit.

I'd do it no matter what fighter it is.

You nailed it. This is all a ploy to get back into the ufc. Sylvia understands MMA is not the typical sport; it is a sport driven by the fans and if enough fans speak out about bringing Sylvia back to the ufc, Dana may just comply.
I see this as a selfish and cowardly act. If Sylvia is truly the kind and gentle soul he is trying to portray, he would be donating to charity and things of that nature.
Just for trying to pull a fast one on the ufc and mma fans, I hope he does not get back into the ufc. I sincerely mean that...I hate people who do nice things only for publicity and not out of the kindness of their hearts.
Why can't he do this in the organization he is in right now? This sort of thing makes me very - very angry because somewhere in this wonderful world we live in, there is going to be a person, group, and or organization who will believe Sylvia and use words such as kind, courageous, selfless etc. to describe him.
