UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jone tweeted last night that his coach Greg Jackson will indeed corner him against former teammate Rashad Evans at UFC 145 in Atlanta, Georgia.

'Bones' is the top fighter coming out of Jacksons gym, Of course Jackson will be in Jones corner. Just because Evans used to be part of the camp and close with Greg that don't mean Jackson can't do his job and support his best fighter. I don't think it'd make a difference regardless if Greg was in 'Bones' corner or not Evans would still lose decisively.

I wouldn't be surprised if win or lose, Jones / Jackson and Rashad will mend fences. Bones plainly said that he misses having Rashad as a friend in an interview recently. Personally I think that Jon is the better natural talent, and a hard working coachable guy to boot. Rashad deserves plenty of respect for his accomplishments too and has been a top 10 LHW for a long time. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part haha.

I don't think they will mend the relationship. Rashad seems to honestly dislike Jones instead of just creating hype like he did with Rampage.

now that rashad is a Blackzillian (very stupid name for a gym IMO) there is no reason for jackson not to corner jones.

Was there really even a question about this? Rashad left Jackson's a long time ago did he not?

How is this news to anyone? Keeping this in the news seems very artificial, either by those at Jackson's talking about it publicly almost in a press-release fashion, or the media making stories like it matters, or a combination of both.

On the point of them making up, I don't see it. Sure they will hug and "squash it" in the ring, but I doubt they will be friends or train again any time soon. I could see Rampage and Rashad making up before these two.

Imperial Athletics is actually the gym name, they just call themselves the blackzillians because the gym was mostly composed of black people and brazillians when it first opened up.
