“Of course, Silva is ducking Sonnen. Why would he want to fight Chael again? He got lucky by catching Chael in that triangle arm-bar the first time,”
I disagree...I'm taking Silva by KO as he'll surely work is TD defense and knock him out...especially considering how he looked against Bisping

yeah i think silva will probably get the KO this time. he knows what to expect from chael, and we all know chael is not a finisher. i hate saying this but chael will be lucky to not get KO'd. war chael anyways

There must be something about that camp or oregoin where triangles aren't legitimate submissions and are just considered lucky. I believe herman got caught 2 times in a row by mcdonald and maia

uhh shouldn't Silva have already expected what Sonnen was going to do the first time out? its like giving Saunders a rematch with Fitch now fully expecting being taken down. I'm pretty sure Sonnen finshed Stann, but that's I guess thats easily forgotten.

Silva did get lucky, not because of the triangle, but because Sonnen chose to fight the final round. One thing people didn't give Sonnen credit for was that he wastrying to finish and beat up Silva in the fifth round. Sonnen could have easily ran around in circles refusing to engage Silva, aka Silva vs Maya (refused to go to the ground and mocked Maya instead of fighting), lost the round 10-7 and still would have won the fight.

Maia is how it is spelled
and yes that is a point often overlooked.

Thanks. I knew I was spelling his name wrong, but was too lazy to look it up. I couldnt think how to spell it if my life was depending on it. Maybe my mind is a little foggy from last night's superbowl party.

So Sonnen should get credit for doing what he is supposed to be doing? I feel that there are many parallels that can be drawn from praising someone for competing as they are supposed to, should we choose to go down that road...

If Sonnen hadn't taken him down and would have tried to ride out a decision on the feet, he would have gotten knocked out. The ground (while still dangerous because of his shitty sub defense) was the safer spot for him.
I will Av bet on this fight.
Silva is going to absolutely crush him. No way this goes past round 2.

Silva got lucky.
But I think he'll win this time out.
BTW, sonnen had silva in trouble on the feet aswell, I dont know how you can say Sonnen would have got knocked out when Anderson Silva, got rocked, on the feet, by Chael Sonnen, of All people.
lol.

Someone still needs to explain to me how a triangle choke is lucky.
