kind of a disappointing fight in terms of excitement, but Condit did what he had to do to win. I think that's really the only way he could've won the fight and he pulled it off brilliantly.
I find it boring as a fan, because you know that the guy is not even coming close to trying to finish the fight, he's fighting on points, but I can't blame him for putting together a winning strategy, he outlanded Diaz in every round except maybe the second.
I gave Diaz round 2 and 5, Condit the rest.

What a piss off, I think Condit was getting the better striking but only by leg kicks, he was running backward the whole time. CArlos looked much better than Diaz though. 8-3 lost my parlay

How could Condit be happy with that performance. Sure, it got him the interim belt, but he backed away almost the entire fight.

Condit was moving away, but also did damage. Diaz did some damage and had aggression.
All I know is Condit won the 4th, the rest I'd have to watch again.
I do wish Condit would have tried to attack and back Diaz up a little more.

I would say blame Nick Diaz, to be honest. It's his job to either avoid those strikes or find a way to land more of his own. It may be boring, but Condit used a strategy where he got hit by so few punches, that leg kicks were the most significant thing happening in the rounds. Diaz needed to do something to change that.

This seems to be a really common thing when a belt is on the line. I guess it's understandable, their whole lives are pretty much geared towards getting that belt, so when they finally get into a position to win it, they're going to do whatever it takes to win, which often means the safest possible gameplan, circling constantly and just winning on points, or holding the guy down and giving him no space at all to work subs or sweeps. I can't blame them at all.

I don't see how anyone could think Diaz won. The only things he won in this fight was the contest between who was moving forward the most and who was getting hit the most. He is crazy impressive and fearless but he didn't win the fight...
Condit won in the least entertaining way because he appeared to be running (machida) but he landed more shots and better shots.

Condit's gameplan kinda reminded me of a Machida gameplan when he had those decisions early in his UFC career.

I have to scratch my head sometimes, it was a clear victory for Condit in my opinion. I missed the second half of the 5th so I can't comment on that. Even if Condit was "running away" (just smart enough not to stand in front of Diaz like everyone else) he still was able to land effective strikes, his kicks were landing at will while Diaz didn't land a whole lot of anything effective. He should have spent less time talking to Condit and more time doing something about it.

yeah, pretty boring strategy, but like I said I completely understand. It's the most important moment of his life, he wants the belt no matter what, not worried about if the fans like the way he does it.
