Frank Mir and Fabricio Werdum each own one of heavyweight MMA's greatest submission wins ever. For Mir it was his arm shattering kimura victory over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira while Werdum scored a quick triangle over Fedor Emelianenko.

With Werdum set to make his return to the UFC at tomorrow's UFC 143, Mir spoke to Tatame and gave some significant props to Fabricio:

Frank Mir talked exclusively to TATAME Magazine said he's not the best grappler in MMA's heavyweight division.

The American, who in last December submitted Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, said this "title" belongs to a Brazilian. "When people compliment my Jiu-Jitsu I also say (Fabricio) Werdum's is better than mine", Mir said, who through his career defeated names like Brock Lesnar, Tim Sylvia and Roberto Traven using the gentle art.

He's definitely up there.

He comes to mind along with guys like Mir, Nog, Nelson, etc.

Werdum is definitely the best pure grappler.

You can't really argue that if you're looking at credentials.

Rolles Gracie may be on just credentials in world wide HWs, but yeah Werdum is the best grappler in the UFC. Mir's BJJ imo is now #2

Mir knows Werdum is the better grappler but he knows he's the better fighter, sounds like he's trying to set up another easy fight.

Mir is the best Heavyweight grappler, within the context of MMA, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe it would be a different story in a pure BJJ format, but as far as effective grappling in a real fight, it's pretty tough to say anyone is better than Mir.

Not only was he the first person to ever submit Nogueira, but he did it by breaking his arm. Tough to match that grappling accomplishment as a heavyweight in terms of MMA.
