An injury has forced former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ competitor George Sotiropoulos out of UFC 144 in Japan. In his place Eiji Mitsuoka will step in and face Takanori Gomi.
Sources close to the fight confirmed the news to MMAWeekly.com on Friday with bout agreements issued for the Feb contest.
Eiji Mitsuoka will make his UFC debut on just a month’s notice, where he will fight at home in Japan against former Pride champion Takanori Gomi.

The ref tackle is awesome.
BTW, being that Sotiropolous is a 10th planet guy, you hear on the podcast Eddie Bravo saying Lentz has been working really hard on his rubber guard and expect to see him use a lot of it against Dunham tomorrow (I'm paraphrasing)? I'm curious to see if Lentz tries out some new techniques.

Lets hope so.
10th planet is way underrated.
I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but there is a concerted effort in the traditional BJJ community to discredit Eddie Bravo and his system.
I've seen it first hand as I'm part of the traditional community (Jeff Curran student and Pedro Saure affiliate.)
If I come to the gym and offer to show my colleagues a new move from Demian Maia or Marcelo Garcia, everyone is interested.
If I offer to show something from Eddie Bravo, no one wants to listen.
Sorry if that was off topic.

Great replacement, I have him beating Gomi. It's always great to see a good Japanese fighter make it on a UFC card, whether they do successful or not. Anyway, if Gomi cant get the knockout I think he'll probably gets outgrappled and booted out of zuffa.

Eiji is going to beat Gomi just like Kitoaka did. Heel Hook.
It's a shame too, because Gomi was going to knock out Sotiropolous as an Underdog in front of his home crowd.

This, except with an armbar.
