Sage Francis
sorry but i will have to disagree with you there. i saw him once opening for Rise Against a few years ago and he sucked. he couldnt engage at all with the crowd and some the lyrics i was able to hear (couldnt understand what he was saying half the time) was pretty crappy. im not really into rap but i can respect some of the artists...Sage Francis imo, based on one live show, is crap. had he done a better job i may have been inclined to listen to some of his songs
I'm not a Sage Francis fan either, dude annoys the piss outta me
there was one song that was kinda patriotic that wasnt bad, but then he followed that with 2 songs about his dick...or at least referenced it more than a couple times
I'll guess that it's Makeshift Patriot.

All I listen to is underground rap...
1.Immortal Technique 2.Canibus 3. Chino XL
Others:
Jedi Mind Tricks Atmosphere Murs Necro Ill Bill and La coka Nostra Jean Grae Brother Ali Blu & Exile Army of the Pharaohs Evidence Celph titled Reef Apathy RA Little Brother Prof Masta Ace Cage
Cheif Kamachi? Guru? Diabolic? I only ask because you just named nearly people that ill-bill has or did work with.
To the guy that asked if we were joking about MGK, what wrong with MGK? different strokes for different folks. Personally I think Tyler the Creator is the worst artist that is out there, but as some already said, he does have his own fan base and following, cant hate on that (although Hopsin will rip him apart lol)

Does anybody like MGK?
LMAO, I am listening to the "Hell Yeah" remix as I read this... damn you MGK, that's a new way to market yourself. I do like MGK, I like some of Yela, but I find hard to listen to Yela at times.
Soul Khan? Fast Forward to 1:40 for things to start.

Good God, I hope this is a joke.

I'm assuming many thought your joke was because he was mainstream for rap at the time, and not that he's literally an "under ground" rapper
Well played sir.

Agreed.
I was going to chime in and say Tupac, myself.

I am extremely critical of rap music to the point where I rarely listen to it. Most of it I find to be utterly crap, with guys who try and come off as incredible lyricists, but end up repeating a bunch of words with no real context. A rapper's sole duty as a musician is to come up with creative lyrics, and deliver them with a proper rhythm. Back beats are a distant second.
With that said, my favorite rapper of all time, while not especially underground (but not mainstream in my opinion), is Mos Def. Lupe Fiasco is also incredible.

My homie DJ Swann just toured with them. Says Celph is easily one of the coolest guys around, down to earth and humble.
