A heavily rumored matchup between former UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez (9-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) and Antonio Silva (16-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is not happening, a source today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

The bout was reportedly targeted for April, when the UFC is scheduled to return to Atlanta for UFC 146.

While Silva is still targeted to make his octagon debut on that month, his opponent is undetermined.

I could be way off here, but I was thinking Velasquez/Antonio was a big mismatch.

Kinda happy, I like big foot and thought he would get KO'ed again.

He may be big, but he also has that big head which is easier to hit.

I'm a Mir fan but I think his chances are slim in a fight against Cain.

I would have liked to have seen Bigfoot and Cain go at it. Cain is coming back from a huge, huge, defeat. Not only was it his first loss, not only was it a heavy weight title fight,it was also the first fight on Fox. That's got to play a psychological role in how he handles his return. For the better or the worse is yet to be determined but I think a guy like Bigfoot would be a good welcome back test.

I really don't think Silva posed too much of a threat to Velasquez, Cain v Mir would be much more competitive, i'd likely go with Mir

Mir vs Cain for a #1 contenders fight? as much as i like Velasquez, i think 2 top wins in the HW division gets you a title fight. Velasquez vs Gonzaga i would like to see instead.

I think this one makes much more sense, both are in the title picture

Cain and Frank will fight cinco de mayo at Ufc fox 3

Bigfoot is still fighting in Atlanta. Co main vs

A few names could be carwin or mitrione or gonzaga

I am looking for matchups constantly. I don't mind so much the Montreal fights all going to Atlanta. But i would like a good co main to go with Jon Jones fight
I don't wanna fly 6 hours for a.mediocre card
