wow a lot of matchups where one guy was making 10-15 x more than his opponent heh.

I'm probably the biggest Lawler fan on The Playground, but even I have to admit those numbers are bulls*** when you have the champion only reeling in $90,000 which includes his win bonus.
But hey, who am I to complain.

Sherdog touched on this in the post-event Beatdown podcast, actually. Lawler sticks with Strikeforce because they take care of him and he apparently has a lot of input when it comes to his matchmaking. I agree with their assessment that Lawler's better off in the UFC - we know where he's at in the Strikeforce order, and because of his striking and athleticism he'll always be a credible threat. While he's not a complete fighter and will not hold a belt for an extended period, he really is an excellent gatekeeper and there's nothing wrong with that kind of a role, especially when his recent losses tend to come through grappling and not by getting knocked out.

the same can be said for many ufc fighters. I would rather pay to watch cruz defend his belt again instead of pay to watch tito do anything, but the pay scale says otherwise (provided a large payout indicates a fighters role in ppv buys)
