MMA Fighting recently caught up with the elusive Gina Carano to discuss why she disappeared from the MMA landscape for the last two and a half years, her upcoming film, "Haywire," which opens in theatres nationwide on Jan. 20, how she landed the starring role in the film, whether she will ever fight again, and the emergence of Ronda Rousey as perhaps the new face of women's MMA.

she appears to have a very likeable personality. I hope she is successful with the movies. I'm planning on going to the movie and if it wasn't starring an MMA fighter I wouldn't have even thought twice about going. their marketing plan is working to some degree...at least on me.

i will be watching the movie (on dvd) bc i like movies like this & bc she is hot. I have not considered her a mixed martial artist or a fighter in years.

I think her personal, *cough* i mean medical problem *cough*, was along the lines of a pregnancy/miscarraige/abortion by her way of handling the issue.

She's not coming back to MMA, she's already referring to her career in the past tense.

Jesus, I have seriously never heard so much "mma news" about a "fighter" that hasn't fought in well over 2 years. Does anyone really care about the next time that Gina Carano is NOT making weight or NOT fighting?

It would seriously be like if there was a new article every month titled: Randy Couture - Still retired. Where Randy Couture talks about how he's still NOT fighting.
