I know it will probably never happen but if Machida were to move down to MW and fight his good friend I think that could be the greatest MW title fight in many years. Anderson says he wants nothing but big fights before he retires. Then this fight would be the biggest fight out there for him. Not counting Jones of course. I think I would also pick Machida in that one thoughts?

I would pick Anderson.

Machida's always relied on his karate, no one was able to figure him out that's why he was winning. Silva is 10x the fighter.
Silva via KO
Done deal, moving on.

I see strong potential for this fight to be extremely boring actually. I would take Silva, but both guys are counterstrikers, so there's a good chance the action would be pretty sparse.

That's what I was thinking as well. This might be one of the worst fights in ufc history if it happened. I could be wrong though. I'd still like to see it because it's two of the best but their styles don't fit well together in order to have a compelling fight.

They would both try to wait and counter one another, but they are both counter fighters.

I would pick Anderson though.

I'd be more interested in watching them spar.

I've heard Machida routinely hits Anderson more than Anderson hits him, But you gotta go with the guy with the reach/power when the two have almost identical strategies like this fight.

I'd say both throw the Steven Seagal inspired karate kick and it ends via double KO.

Karate Kid would severely mess Andy Silva up......hence, the REAL reason why Silva won't fight him.

It's true Machida and Silva are both counter strikers - but I do think this fight will be entertaining. The first round will be occupied with dancing and taunting but I expect the rest of the rounds to be full of fantastic fighting which I predict will result in a knock out.

I think Machida may look better in sparring but I doubt that Andy hits full strength in sparring.
