First of all.... fight of the millennium!!!

The final battle in the Lord of The Rings is sad and pathetic in comparison to what we just saw....

Second? Who do you all think won the fight? I am very interested to see who the playground, overall, gave the decision to.

I'm also interested to see what rounds were given to whom. My friends and I all gave the fight to Shogun but disagreed about rounds.

I think Shogun won the fight. I gave the first and third rounds to Hendo, obviously. I thought Shogun won rounds 2, 4, and 5. Round 5 should have been a 10-8 round. If being on your back for 5 minutes straight (mounted) taking punches to the face doesn't constitute a 10-8 round, we might as well abolish it from the scoring system. That was the most dominant round I think I've ever seen. Could have even been a 10-7.

I think the best you can argue for Henderson is that it was a draw. As dominant as he was at times, he did not win the fight IMO.

I had it a draw to be honest. Hendo round 1(10-9), Shogun round 2(19-19), Hendo round 3(29-28), Hendo round 4(39-37), Shogun round 5, 10-8 (47-47)

I have the same scores except for Round 4 which I think Shogun clearly won. That would give him the fight.

It might have been round 2 I gave to Hendo then. I was pretty stoned watching it. I'll have to rewatch it. I don't see a lot of people arguing for a Shogun win though. Lots of people scored it a draw.

I thought Hendo took the first three and Shogun won the last two with the 5th being a 10-8. 47-47. I also think a case could be made for the absolute face smashing Hendo did to earn himself a 10-8 in the 3rd for a 47-46 win. I voted Draw, but I can't disagree with the Hendo win, I just would've had it 47-46 instead of 48-47.

What about Round 2??? No a lot of people are talking about that round. It was very close and I think Shogun edged it out.

I'm curious to see why the people who gave Hendo that round thought he won.

Maybe people just think Hendo won round 2 because it was sandwiched between rounds 1 and 3, which were pretty dominant for Hendo.

Who won the fight? The fans.

Seriously though, I gave rounds 1, 2, and 3 to Hendo and rounds 4 and 5 to Shogun with round 5 being a 10-8. Overall, I thought it was the textbook definition of a draw, even more so than Edgar-Maynard.

I also had Henderson winning the first 3 and Shogun winning rounds 4 & 5. IMO, Shogun won round 5 10-8 making it a 47-47 draw. After the 3rd, it was Hendersons to lose and he damn near did. Shogun has nothing to be ashamed of, he fought his ass off and almost stole this fight. Both these guys showed so much heart tonight, much respect now the only question is....when's the rematch?

Hendo won 3 rounds, Shogun won 2. Hendo was gassed beyond belief for R5 was mounted like a deerhead the entire round tho ugh. Definite 10-8 round IMO. Is too bad for Shogun that most MMA judges are too dense to understand the concept of a 10-8 and score it.

Shogun reminds me of Vitor in that at times we have no clue who is going to show up to fight. I thought there was no way that he could dodge the H-bomb for 25 minutes. He got tagged for sure, but survived remarkably. The Shogun that showed up last night = straight badass.

I was just really disappointed in the judging of the enctire event.. I heard they accidentally ruled one fight in favor of rick story making it a split instead of a ud
And then gave bonnar 2 10-8 rounds but not shogun in round 5.
Frankly if I was a judge I would be glad they don't announce their names along with their scoring decision.

10-9 Hendo
10-9 Hendo
10-9 Hendo
10-9 Shogun
10-8 Shogun- over 4 minutes on your back constitutes a 10-8. Shogun was active enough & dominant enough to give him the 10-8.

Pookie said it best in the FOTY thread:

47-47

Hendo by must-win decision
Shogun by death match
