Fresh off an impressive victory over Cole Escovedo, Alex Caceres (6-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) is booked for Super Bowl weekend.

The veteran of "The Ultimate Fighter 12" is slated to meet prospect Edwin Figueroa (8-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at UFC 143, officials today announced.

UFC 143 takes place Feb. 4 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The event's main card, which is headlined by a welterweight title fight between champ Georges St-Pierre and challenger Nick Diaz, airs live on pay-per-view.

It's unknown whether Caceres vs. Figueroa will occupy the UFC 143 main or preliminary card.

Caceres likely saved his job with his win over Escovedo this past Saturday at UFC on FOX. The colorful fighter dropped two consecutive bouts by rear-naked choke following his appearance on "TUF 12." Opponents Mackens Semerzier and Jim Hettes delivered the setbacks at UFC Fight Night 24 and UFC on Versus 5, respectively.

Against Escovedo, though, Caceres showed a vastly improved striking game and pitched a shutout on the judges' scorecards.

This is a great match up for the new and improved Caceres. Might even steal FOTN.

Alex looked better, but Cole looked like crap.

Edwin should give a better fight.

Caceres was too flashy against Escovedo, and thankfully his offense saved him from his lack of defense, left too many counter opportunities open. Doubt he can make the same mistake with E Fig without having his chin tested.

Looking for Edwin to blast through him.

I have always liked Leroy. I think with some serious training on discipline, he can make it big. He has all the tools to do well in MMA. I would say his biggest lack of skills is wrestling but, with his style, he should be able to keep most fighters from taking him down. I like how he uses the front kick to keep his opponents from getting too close. It will be a treat to watch this kid get better, and grow and mature inside the octagon. This kid has a lot of future FOTN awards in his name already.

I never cared for Leeroy until his last performance. He blew me away with the way he dictated that fight and when he was on his back he kept throwing up different sub attempts. He really made me a fan and I'm pulling for him.
