Yesterday at the UFC on Fox weigh ins Joe Rogan announced that the winner of Clay Guida and Ben Henderson would be the number one contender for Frankie Edgar's lightweight belt. With the fight of the year candidate in the books and Henderson as the victor, the fight was made official at the post fight press conference. It was rumored that the next Frankie Edgar fight would be at Zuffa's first attempt to break into the Japanese market in January. Dana White confirmed this rumor tonight.

I think this fight will be a FOTY candidate when all is said and done. Now that Edgar/Maynard are done, there are gonna be some great Lightweight matchups come soon. I can't wait for 2012

Oh baby, I can't wait for this one. Edgar is one of my favourites but Bendo has really made me a fan over his last 4 or 5 fights. Should be an exciting scrap.

Henderson keeps getting better and this is where the Frankie train stops. Henderson is a smarter and more athletic fighter than Penn or Maynard and will do enough to take a decision.

I hate saying anything but Bendo has never seen the angles and movement that Edgar has....Well Maybe movement with Guida but Guida has zero standup period...If you think about it in all hendersrons fights he has not faced a good standup guy...maybe Pettis...but I think hes flashy not really great technically..

Penn is a smart fighter...You have to be smart if you are very good in BJJ....but some are good through practice too of course...case in point Nick Diaz..
