Maybe fighting on Facebook isn't the worst thing in the world.

While many MMA fans and pundits have expressed their frustration that a key UFC on FOX lightweight matchup between Clay Guida (29-11 MMA, 9-5 UFC) and Ben Henderson (14-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has been relegated to the evening's Facebook-streamed undercard, it appears UFC brass is still dangling a rather large carrot in front of the winner.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from multiple sources close to the promotion that the winner of the Guida vs. Henderson matchup is expected to receive an immediate title shot against current lightweight champ Frankie Edgar (14-1-1 MMA, 9-1-1 UFC).

Guida and Henderson meet in the co-feature of Saturday night's UFC on FOX 1 event, which sees heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez defend his belt against Junior Dos Santos in Anaheim, Calif. The main event airs on FOX.

IMO, either fighter will lose to Edgar but it should be entertaining nevertheless.

i think henderson would take the title from frankie. edgar did an unimpressive job trying to finish edgar when he hurt him. i think ben would take him down and elbow him to pieces.

I seriously doubt Ben can keep Edgar down long enough to do any damage, and let us not forget his fight with Pettis so quickly.

I like the sound of Edgar defending his belt in Japan. Hell, I just like the sound of the UFC back in Japan. Perhaps that will help re-invigorate the JMMA scene, who knows.

But back to the scenario at hand, I am just excited this log jam for the title at lightweight will be alleviated. As Edgar pointed out prior to his third match with Maynard, he has only fought two people in the last two years: BJ (2x in 2010) and Maynard (2x in 2011). It will be great to see him defend his belt against new competition.

I feel that Henderson would probably have a better chance of wresting the title from Edgar than Guida. Henderson is hard to hurt, nearly impossible to submit, has great composure and he has been looking better than ever. Guida is also hard to hurt, and has an unstoppable pace. He has been on a good tear since joining Jackson MMA. Either of these guys would make for interesting title challengers. It'll be fun to see who will get that honor tomorrow night!

I really don't see either guy being able to deal with Edgar. It's hard to see anyone doing it right now to be honest. Maybe Diego if he could get back to what he was at LW? But even then...
