Brian Foster is headed to Bellator Fighting Championships' competitive welterweight division.

Officials today announced the signing, thought terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"I'm getting that belt," Foster stated. "I want to fight the best. I want to fight (champ) Ben Askren and take home that belt. I ran through my last two opponents, and I'm better than I've ever been."

I love Brian and I really want to see him do well, but chances are Askren's going to easily grind him to a decision

i thought the UFC allowed him a warm up fight or two outside the org to get back into fighting shape. clearly he did that in those 2 wins.

That's what I'm saying. Why isn't he going to the ufc? I do really want to see him fight Saunders though. That has war written all over it.

Dislike this.

Just thought he was getting fights outside the UFC and then coming back. Wasn't aware he was cut or contract was done.

But at least I can see him on TV/Bellator now.

I don't think I've seen Bellator salaries.

Budge,

I don't recall where I read this, so take it for what its worth but from what I gathered, the UFC deemed Brian too big of a health liability, even after his two "tune up" fights. The speculation right now is that the UFC did not feel comfortable with Brian's brain hemorrhage issues and that they wanted to distance themselves from a fighter with known brain issues because they did not want to risk having a death or other serious injury happening under the UFC banner. Again, this was speculation and I wish I remember where I read it but I'm drawing a blank right now. Anyway Brian was cleared by multiple doctors but even after that the UFC declined to re-sign him so that scenario does make atleast some sense because there really was no other reason to to resign him unless they just don't like him or there was contract dispute we have not heard about yet.

Anyway, again thats why I've heard floating around, whether it is true or not I don't know.

He'll be very successful in Bellator. I'd love to see him match-up with any of the following: Saunders, Hieron, Good, Askren, Hawn.
