The UFC has confirmed that they will stage a season of the The Ultimate Fighter outside of Las Vegas for the first time, and it will be in Brazil. Today, a report from Brazilian media giant Globo pegged down when it will take place and who the coaches will be: UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and former opponent Vitor Belfort. Filming is set to begin in March, and Globo, the people who put out the report, are set to produce the show. Here's a rough translation:

After the announcement of the broadcast of UFC fights by Rede Globo, a new feature promises to stir the market's national MMA. The month of March 2012 will mark the debut of the reality TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) in Brazil.

I thought there were reports that those two were turned down as coaches?

Yeah, supposedly Dana is denying it. But, Globo are the one's who reported Silva and Belfort as the coaches, and they are the one's who are set to produce the show.

Interesting.

B/c I know Dana wants Silva/Sonnen 2.

Maybe they would only be coaches and not fight?

Wouldn't be the first time. Didn't Hughes and Franklin coach a season of TUF knowing they wouldn't fight?

Yes they did, but at the time they were both champs and were suppose to defend titles at the PPV after the show, ( Riggs didnt make weight for the Hughes fight) Franklin KO'd Quarry!

Anderson and Chael would have been good but Chael would get submitted before he ever saw the camera, Vitor won't

Yeah, Vitor would just get KTFO by a stupid crane kick.....again.....or pull out due to an injury.....again.

Vitor loses- ko/tko 3 sub- 1, Chael loses- sub- 8!!!!! Ko/tko 1. I'll take my chances with Vitor

Really? Chael can't defend a sub to save his life, now put him in a room full of Brazilians that already don't like him and see how long it is before he taps. Sorry I didn't clarify that.

I think that was because Franklin won the fight agains the coach that was going to be against Hughes or something along that line. He beat like Tanner or something.

I don't think the UFC would like to have coaches that don't fight at the end of the season.

I would still rather see Vitor vs Silva though I think Sonnen has a better shot of winning. But if you put Vitor against anybody enough times he'll eventually get the tko.
