While former Strikeforce champ Nick Diaz (26-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) certainly didn't have the best first round of his professional career on Saturday night, he rebounded over the final 10 minutes in an epic beatdown of MMA legend B.J. Penn.

UFC president Dana White called the performance "awesome," and labeled both Diaz and Penn "warriors."

It's everything Diaz could have hoped for in his octagon return and yet it sounds as if it was nothing that he wanted. In fact, at Saturday night's post-event press conference, Diaz admitted he simply wasn't happy – about just about anything, really.

"I'm not happy with my performance at all," Diaz said of his win over Penn, which served as the main event of Saturday's UFC 137 event in Las Vegas. "I wasn't 100 percent today. I felt good, but just leading up to this fight, I went through a lot of hard times."

Diaz finally gave me a reason to root for GSP.

Honestly, I don't want GSP to finish Nick, I want this fight to be a slow death for Diaz.....5 rounds of GSP beating Nick down into hamburger.

Lol Don't you worry Cheal, gsp can't finish most of his opponents at welterweight so he won't have a chance at finishing Diaz. Nick will lose every round on the scorecards, but he won't ever really be in danger.

I cant help but to feel like Nick is putting on this while show just to make people think one way. I mean who is to say that he didn't want GSP to actually be his first fight back to begin with. Who's to say that Dana doesn't love the drama that surrounds Nick? It sells seats right? How quickly did UFC 137 sell out when it was Diaz vs GSP, How quickly is the Feb match gonna sell out? How surprised is everyone gonna be when this uneducated idiot comes out and submits the (arguably) pound for pound best fighter? Ehh, maybe im just crazy.... or maybe im just not blind to the unseen scripts that are behind the scene.

I am so tired of listening to Diaz complain about money. Talking about how he wants to "get paid."

News flash for you, brah: Nobody is forcing you to do this for a living. Just like any other job, if you're unhappy with the pay, find a new one.

You mean the other way around bro. Diaz is going to put GSP in the hospital. Plain and simple. I can't comprehend how anyone thinks GSP is going to beat him. I see GSP getting a worse beating than Penn got.

No danger? Plastic surgery to fix a broken face doesn't qualify

i gotta say, the shit that diaz was saying didnt make a ton of sense. i acted like GSP was dodging him and that he got screwed out of something but in reality diaz screwed himself and everybody knows it. i wish he would have gotten to fight GSP just to hear his smack talk earn him a beat down.

True dat, I just don't see how people get tricked into thinking the most dominant WW of all time could possibly win again. Yep definitely NO WAY that GSP could beat Diaz....
