While UFC middleweight contender Alan Belcher generally enters the cage sporting a pair of Muay Thai trunks, he's also registered four submission wins in the octagon.

And now, he's a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.

Belcher, who began training in the grappling art at just 14 years old, was recently granted the rank of black belt by his longtime instructor, Helio Soneca.

I think Belcher has the tools to be at the top, he just needs to get those tools in order and stay healthy. I know you cant help freak injuries, but staying healthy and at the top of his game is important. To keep coming off of injuries is tough and is a constant set back when dealing with ring rust.
