Dana White is a ruthless competitor and that's certainly not a bad thing. The world of combat sports promotion has always been cutthroat and always will be. Dana and the rest of the management at the UFC are competitive and they've used that drive to become the big winners in the MMA field.
Dana talks about his feelings on competitors and why he has no beef with Bellator in this MMA Weekly video.

He said the same thing about Strike Force and look what happened to it.
On never-mind - there is no Strike Force. What was I thinking?

UFC shouldn't have a problem with Bellator.
Bellator has it's own problem with the tourney's and the lack of title fights. They are going to have to change or expand a little.

Why do people still believe anything Dana says? Dana could say the sky is green and people would believe it.
Why is UFC counter-programming them, if they have no problem with Bellator?
And I disagree that Dana's ruthlessness is a good thing.
Bloody Elbow is a sad excuse for journalism.

He ought to love Bellator. They are his best defense to the anti-trust investigation.

While I do agree with the last part of your post, please explain to me when the ufc counter programs bellator ? If that was the case we would have mma every weekend. And if your referring to ufc unleashed on saturday nights then thats spikes call, which I doubt they would do seeing how there backing bellator

Pride - oh how I missed Pride. Strike Force - what a pity. Bellator - you have my condolences.

In all fairness to Dana, he generally doesn't get agressive with other orgs until they try to directly stick their fingers in his pie. JMMA orgs don't interest Dana until they try to hold shows on US soil like Pride did near their end. Dana was actually very complimentary about Strikeforce until they signed Fedor and tried going head to head with the UFC. Affliction tried to go toe to toe with the UFC from the start and look how well that turned out. Bellator, MFC, Dream, Shark Fights, etc. are all smalltime orgs that aren't trying to cut into the UFC's share of the pie.
In the end you have to understand that Dana is the president of the company and it is his job to protect his company's interests. I can't fault the man for being good at his job.

Its not like any of these companies were forced to sell to Zuffa. At some level or another all the entities that Zuffa has acquired have been mismanaged.
They simply purchase the remnants of orgs running on fumes and give the fighters a new place to continue their careers.
