After each suffering back-to-back losses, Dan Hornbuckle (22-5 MMA, 3-3 UFC) and Wilson Reis (12-4 MMA, 5-4 BFC) have each been released from their Bellator Fighting Championships' contracts.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the roster moves with sources close to the fighters.

Both fighters each recently suffered season-five tournament quarterfinal bouts – Hornbuckle in the welterweight division and Reis in the bantamweight class.

Reis would be a good addition to the UFC 135 division as his most recent fight was his first there and he's an elite jitz black belt and only 26. Hornbuckle is better off in an MFC or Shark Fights or something, I can't see him making any impact at 170 in the UFC but there's a lot of fights that'd be entertaining in Strikeforce (Cyborg, Scott Smith, Jason High, Tarec Saffiediene, Semtex, Zaromskis).

Hornbuckle could always throw his hat into Strikeforce Challengers.

That's part of the problem for Bellator with this tournament. Guys fight in the tournament, but don't win or win one fight and then lose.

There's no consistency to the fights, unless you win the tournament.
