Court McGee said he won't win any beauty contests.

And occasionally, he doesn't heed his corner's instructions, and he pays for it.

But when it comes to heart, "The Ultimate Fighter 11" winner said he has it in spades. And it's a big reason he pulled off a victory in the co-headliner of Saturday's UFC Fight Night 25 event.

McGee (14-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC), fighting for the first time in nearly a year because of a knee injury, topped tough welterweight Dongi Yang (9-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) in the Spike TV-televised co-main event of Saturday's UFC Fight Night 25 event at New Orleans' Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

"Luckily, I was born with heart," he told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) after the fight. "I feel you're either born with it or not. Thank goodness tonight I was.

I thought Yang tapped in the last few seconds of the fight, but it could have just been the way he was trying to defend. Didn't really have a great view of it. McGee's a warrior, though. I was impressed his conditioning, considering I couldn't help but notice it since that's all Rogan talked about the entire fight.

Court is one of the least impressive TUF winners, and doesn't have the upside that a few of the other raw TUF winners of recent history have. Court's heart will make him a good low level gatekeeper, but not much more.

I've gotta agree. Once he gets a step up in competition he's not going to fair so well. I still like him as a fighter though and I'm happy he pulled out the W last night.

His style is like Lytle's but with less experience. He may not be the best MW, but at
least he doesn't point fight, he fights hard and has heart. if he can mix up his takedowns and subs, with his standup I think he could have some potential

Heart yes. Footwork, not so much. He was incredibly flat footed the entire fight.

(9-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC)

Yang is 1-2 in the UFC, no?

I've still yet to see any of the fights from Saturday, but I've never been overly impressed with McGee. He seems like an awesome guy with a lot of heart, but his skills still seem raw.

people can't say mcgees is one of the least impressive tuf winners, how many of the past winners are 2-2, or 3-3, or arent even really relevant ion the ufc?, amir sadollah?, ross pearson?, james wilks?, nate diaz is barely a gate keeper, and dont even make me bring up kendall grove haha, all im saying is dont count out court until he loses a match, give him the benifit of a doubt, cuz i mean look at brookins, he lost his first non-tuf fight after winning the big contract, and courts 3-0 in the ufc, so i mean, all im saying is hes a lot better off then some of the recent winners, so far at least

Who has Court fought?

- Chris McCray 0-3 UFC
- Ryan Jensen 2-6 UFC
- Dongi Yang 1-2 UFC

Total of 3-11

I like Court a lot and find myself rooting for him regardless of the opponent.

Not everyone can be a top guy.
