On the surface, everything seemed to be fine.

After all, UFC Fight Night 25 competitor Alan Belcher (17-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) was saying all the right things. The eye injury? A thing of the past. Lingering concerns? No way.

But in truth, Belcher admits there were a lot of question marks in his head. Was he really back to 100 percent? Did he still belong among the elite in the UFC's 185-pound division? All that was answered on Saturday night.

"Even up until [the fight], I was kind of uncertain of what I wanted to do," Belcher said following his win over Jason MacDonald, which aired on Spike TV from New Orleans' Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. "I gave my all in this training camp and everything, but I was nervous as hell going into this fight, coming back. I missed the feeling, and I feel like I can definitely continue down the path I was on, trying to go for a title shot. I think that's what I'm going to do now."

One more fight and then I think he could get a title shot or be in the no.1 contender mix.

Leben, Okami, Bisping possibly, Herman(guess they already fought, Belcher SD)

I'd like to see Belcher fight the winner of Belfort and Le.

WAR BELCHER!

You stated a fact, but didn't put that fact in to any context. What are you talking about? If you don't state your own point, how do you expect someone to understand? Nonetheless, reply to the question you're asking them.

No one said anything about him deserving a title shot. I just want him to face a big name.

The article actually states that with a few more wins, he'll be in the title picture. So he never said he thinks he deserves one directly after a win over MacDonald.

I am a fan of The Talent, as is evidenced by my current avatar. He was off and on in the UFC, but was on a really hot streak before his eye injury. Having said that, while he did well against Macdonald last night, I think Belcher should work his way back up the ladder.

Belcher looked to have a little gut on him last night, which makes me think he is still not in his top physical condition. Maybe part of that has to do with his uncertainty regarding his future in MMA. I would like to see him against a middle of the pack opponent next. If he comes to that in good shape and has another performance like last night, then maybe he can get into title contention.

I want to see him against a striker to really test his defenses and technique: His power and chin as we all know are incredible. Bisping is a great choice as it also tests Bispings striking in the inverse. Which in particular are the holes in Bisping's respective stand-up.

But i guess Belcher's biggest hole is still his grappling, the loss to Grove stands out like a sore thumb.

I dont think he's a serious threat, but the guy is a gamer and might just put together enough(Leites style) to earn a shot at the title.

I mean Belcher himself was talking about title shots before his injury. Belcher, not me talking about it.

Belcher vs Belfort would be a great fight IMO. It fills the needs you've stated above. Belforts a great striker with a pretty good ground game. He did hold Heath Herring down

I think Belcher is going to get his title shot eventually but he's not quite ready yet imo. I think the fights that make the most sense for Belcher right now is against Palhares, Herman 2, or possibly Wandy. I don't think he's quite ready for Leben, Okami, etc. yet, but after maybe 2 fights he'll be right up there.
