Throughout his career, Diego Sanchez has been tested in many facets of mixed martial arts. He’s been in three weight classes, fought for a title and even dealt with a lot of out-of-cage drama that might send the common man spinning out of control, never to return.

After getting his life together and returning the familiar surroundings of Jackson’s MMA in New Mexico, Sanchez feels he’s ready to test himself in a challenge that MMA and the UFC is yet to give him.

Diego Sanchez wants to be a coach on The Ultimate Fighter.

In speaking with MMAWeekly Radio Weekend Edition recently, Sanchez – who won the first season of the famed reality show as a middleweight, alongside light heavyweight winner Forrest Griffin – proclaimed he is a perfect candidate to coach TUF in an upcoming season. With the show finding a new home on the Fox network, Sanchez can gain a ton of exposure to a wide audience, and feels he’s deserving of such a honor.

And I want Jessica Biel but that aint happening. I like Diego but he doesn't fight too often and I've questioned his extra curricular activites such as drinking and partying which he said he did too much of prior to facing Kampmann. The guy needs to put together a couple big wins and use the momentum to land the spot. That fight with Kampmann was a great example of Diego winning the battle but losing the war. Just look at his face to following the fight to see for yourself.

I like Diego. I would like to see him coach a season. He can teach his swarm/wild furry of punches method of fighting, would make for a good season.

Realistically who would he coach against that would be worth making him a coach?

my thoughts exactly...hate to say but I would put Diaz against him...now that would be a twilight zone...

thing is the coaches are high profile or on verge of a title fight...diego is neither so I am sure he isnt even on a long list..

the ufc would in no way put Diego on Fox for the first coach...I expect something bigger to start the ball rolling and hes not a big draw...

Him and the fighters can go outside and do "yes" cartwheels !!

I don't see him as a tuf coach
I think next year you will see chael as a coach

Or his cruz and faber wins. Them as coaches
