Heavyweight fighter Mike Whitehead will face probation after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors accusing him of trying to have sex with a woman who was asleep in his home.
Whitehead appeared in Las Vegas' Clark County District Court this week to officially plead guilty to a charge of attempted sexual assault, the Las Vegas Sun reports. Whitehead entered an Alford plea, under which a defendant maintains innocence, but concedes that prosecutors probably can get a conviction.
He will be officially sentenced in January. Under his plea bargain, prosecutors will recommend probation for Whitehead, who would be required to register as a sex offender...

Hum I would really like to see some more of the details from the case. Either the prosecutors didn't have enough to get most of the charges to stick or the prosecutors really suck at their job.

Well, the whole story sounds dubious to begin with. The only people who know what happened that night are Mike Whitehead and the two ladies. However, it seems to me that the two chicks were quite drunk and Whitehead probably was too. So I think it is safe to say that nobody really knows what went on that night...not even the people in question. Alcohol....what a lovely drug.

I think a couple of you guys have it backwards, if they didn't have a case his lawyer wouldn't recommend he take a plea bargain!!! Looks like rather than get a more serious charge he's agreeing to a plea bargain. It was 2 people's word against his which isn't going to work out well in most cases.
Most courts are a lets make a deal center. If they can get a guaranteed conviction they'll plea out most cases. Saves them time and $$, right or wrong that's the way it is.
