Four fighters remain alive and well in Bellator's season-five welterweight tournament following Saturday's Bellator 49 event, which took place at Caesar's Atlantic City in New Jersey and aired on MTV2.

Following the event, which kicked off the eight-man tournament, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney confirmed the semifinal matchups with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

They are set for Saturday, Oct. 8, at Bellator 53.

Both the location and venue of Bellator 53 still have yet to be finalized.

Ben Saunders (11-3-2 MMA, 2-0 BFC) squares off against Luis Santos (50-6-1 MMA, 2-0 BFC) in one semifinal while across the bracket, Chris Lozano (9-1 MMA, 2-1 BFC) meets Douglas Lima (19-4 MMA, 1-0 BFC).

I'll take Saunders for the win. He's looked pretty solid in Bellator and I see him flourishing as long as he stays. But if he keeps winning the way he has been, its a foregone conclusion that Dana will scoop him back up. Although I'm not sure if he was on bad terms with Dana when he left

Santos is going to be a tough fight for Saunders. Ben has been looking really good lately though and he shows a lot of promise. I think Lima will beat Lozano.

Saunders-Santos is the fight to watch for sure. Lozano-Lima should provide good entertainment as well.

I love Bellator, they have some good talent and more often than not provide a decent fight. The judging in some of the cards (and officials, see: Jay Hieron's tourney run) has been infuriating. But having all these events every week, and 4 tournaments ending in like 12 weeks or something is awesome. Look at the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand-Prix. That won't even be done until next year!

Actually, Bellator has Champion's clauses like the Zuffa now, so Dana can't just scoop him up.

I think it willl be Saunders and Lima in the final.

Anyone give either of them a shot to beat the winner of Askren/Heiron?
