The part that gets me is it took him till the 2nd round to take out Taylor, Lombard is a beast but the level of competition he's fighting isn't doing him any favors in terms of evolving his game.

Didn't he take this fight just to keep in shape? Bellator didn't have any fights lined up for him, and he didn't want to sit around. Some fighters do that during lengthy periods between fights, take a fight against a mediocre fighter to keep off ring rust. Even though Bellator doesn't exactly give him elite opponents, either.

JT is solid, maybe even solid enough to stay in the UFC had he been more mature. This is one of Lombard's better cans.

I would like to see Lombard and Palhares stand next to each other, they'd be like brothers.
Lombard almost came to the UFC but visa issues denied that. He's getting a little too old to come to the UFC now.

Yeah I agree with all of you and can't help but wonder who else out there he wants to fight that is not in the UFC....there arent a whole lot of great MWs out there. I could see him against Gouveia, Cote and Jardine.....that's about as good as it gets outside of the UFC right now.

Why do we care he'd probably fail against top competition and wrestlers.
