I know I'm not the only one excited about the return of The Talent!!!!

I ordered tix to my 1st ufc event in Austin (12 hours away from where I live) at this time last year expecting to see one of my favorite fighters, Belcher, get his shot against Demian Maia in a fight that would put him in the mix for a contender/eliminator fight had he won.

Instead, his retina detached and he went through a LONG & mentally stressful rehab period, one that included him lying face down on a massage table for 18 hours a day for 2-3 weeks so that the injury would heal properly.

Now, it comes full circle. The UFC comes to NOLA. (only 6 hours away now) & Belcher is on my fight card again!!!!

I personally believe Macdonald is a tune-up for Belcher, even w/ ring rust, but I also know Macdonald is not a fighter that should be taken lightly.

I'll be nervous as **** for Belcher Sept 17th. I'm a fan. I've anticipated seeing him for over a year now & I also know over a year out of the octagon is not kind to a fighter & we all know that ANYTHING can happen in MMA.

But in less than 3 weeks, my dream finally comes true. I get to see one of my favorite fighters & one of the ugliest tattoos to ever enter the octagon go to war.

WAR ALAN BELCHER!!!!!!!

I agree, i'm so excited to see him back in the cage, he's a treat to watch. Interesting to see how he will be, especially after being off for that amount of time, one thing he has going for him in this fight is that JMac has terrible striking, so i think Belcher would TKO him before JMac takes him to the ground. Even if JMac takes him down, i don't see him subbing Belcher at all, Belcher is terribly underrated on the ground.

I'm a big AB fan, do i think he will be champ? Nah, probably not... but he's one of those guys who brings it all the time, i'd love to see him match up against some of the stand up fighters in MMA, Cung Le, Robbie Lawler, Melvin Manhoef etc. There's nothing not to like about this guy, other than his Johnny Cash tattoo (Mine is so much better )

I can't wait to see Belcher back. I've got him by 1st round tko but that could be wishful thinking.

lol even though J Mac came over to shake my hand at UFC131 when I yelled "ATHLETE!!" at him, i still gotta cheer for Belcher

he's got a lot of tools and is now a brown belt in bjj so i dont see him getting subbed out... belcher fought akiyama, cote and wilson gouveia and was supposed to fight Maia yet is being given J Mac now? Thats a big step down, but I just wouldnt take MacDonald lightly

WAR TALENT

I'm thinking it's a tune up fight. Belcher has been out for a while with a career threatening injury. I bet if he wins this fight he'll get a decent step up in competition.

I met Belcher when I went down to 10th Planet to train with Eddie Bravo and I really got rubbed the wrong way by the guy. I can't make a full judgement off of one week of training with someone, but him and Junie Browning were the only people I didn't quite get along with. Maybe he was just having a rough couple of days but he seemed like a prick to me. Not to mention that tattoo of Kim Jung Ill that he likes to pass off as Johnny Cash.

I'll definitely be happy to see him back in the octagon, didn't miss him complaining for a title shot or his hideous Cash tattoo with a Snooki pouf. As long as Belcher's striking is on point, he should be able to win this fight easily.
