MILWAUKEE – Perhaps there's a reason UFC welterweight Chris Lytle said he's willing to stand and trade with British slugger Dan Hardy.

Apparently, it doesn't really matter where a win or loss puts him in the UFC's 170-pound division.

Lytle on Saturday informed his employers that Sunday's UFC on Versus 5 contest would be his last in the octagon

Well, maybe Lytle will decide to stand to honor all his fans.

At least he gets to retire in the main event. Been great watching Lytle's career and hopefully he's got another FOTN bonus left in him.

I gotta say, Lytle has all my respect. Just watched Dana's Fight Week blog and all through Hardy's weigh-in Lytle was trying to tell Dana that he didn't care about the weight. Awesome dude.

This makes tomorrow a must watch card. This guy deserves the main event after a career that wasn't built on wins and losses but that was built on putting a show on. Any real mixed martial arts fan appreciates the fights he's put on over the years. In a period of mma where so many fighters are contempt with just boring fans and stalling on the mat, its nice to see a fighter who built his career on just entertaining fans. Also the fact he has never been truly finished makes his career all that much more admirable,

If he doesn't earn a bonus, I could see Dana announcing he'll be giving him OTN bonus money anyways as a retirement gift for so many great fights.

Damn, Lytle will be missed. One of my favourite fighters and a tough sob. I can't wait to watch the card tonight. It'll be something special.

I think he will finish this fight and career on a high note with a win and fight of the night bonus.

I hope so. He's the king of bonuses and has made a sizeable chunk of cash from them throughout his career. Being in so many fights and never being finished is a big deal as well. If he managed to win or at least lose a decision tonight he'll have accomplished something almost no one can say.

He certainly is one of the guys that comes to mind when you think about fighters deserving things like retirement bonuses.

It's sad to see him go, he's one of the most beloved fighters out there for a reason.

Wow....must win fight for Hardy to stay employed by the UFC and Lytle's farewell fight......recipe for fireworks!

Will be extremely disappointed if this fight doesn't deliver.
