It's been a little over two years since Henderson put Bisping to sleep with a nasty shot to the chin and left the UFC due to contract issues. Since that time, he kept busy by facing off against some of the best of Strikeforce with a great deal of success. In that time, his only loss was to Jake Shields, a man so talented that Dana White poached him for the sole purpose of testing Welterweight King Georges St. Pierre. Most recently, Henderson ran out his contract as the reigning Light Heavyweight champ by handing Fedor Emelianeko his third straight loss

As a free agent capitalizing from a late career resurgence, Hendo will likely be the recipient of a new UFC contract. Following are some musings as to Henderson's future in the UFC and the fights I would most like to see Henderson take.

I hope he comes back for at least his last couple of fights b/c I think the LHW division could use a boost of him.

Well, honestly I think after Jon Jones beats Rampage (i hope he dont, but he probably will) and the Jones/Evans fight is set, they should definitly make a number one contender fight between Machida/Hendo.

God it doesnt matter who wins either fight cuz no matter what each scenerio is something that would be awesome to see.

Evans/Machida II - for rashad's belt again
Jones/Machida - I'd like to see Jones hit that elusive bastard lol
Hendo/Evans - what a fight this would be. both great wrestlers n' lethal power in their hands
Hendo/Jones - very bad match up for Hendo, but hendo throws them game-changers so you never know.

I think Hendo fits in perfectly if they UFC signs him soon, Hendo vs Machida for #1 contender after Evans will be one of the most epic fights!!

At the top.

I'd pick him over Rashad, Forrest, Davis, T. Silva, Franklin, Gufstaffson, Ortiz, etc...

Jones, Machida, Rampage, and Lil Nog are the toughest fights for him. And i doubt he gets matched up against Lil Nog or Jones anytime soon.

I like the potential matchups if he comes.

Him vs Jones, Evans, Griffin, Machida, Vladdy and if Lil Nog gets a couple wins together.

Hendo v Machida would be nice, or hendo fights the loser of the Evans v Jones fight. If he wins, he gets a shot at the title

Lil Nog? He hasn't been cut yet? At least throw him in there against a contender.

I do not think Henderson is ready to hang it up anytime soon. Henderson has been fortunate to have not suffered a knock out in his career thus far and until that happens, I have a feeling he will continue to fight for another 5 years or so.

Anyway, like many have said, Henderson will only make the ufc's lhw division better. I know I definitely want to see Henderson vs Machida.

I said i doubt the fight happens, but nonetheless, i doubt the fight would go any different than the first time they fought.
