Toronto has won the day for the UFC's next excursion into Canada.

After the promotion considered events in the Ontario capital as well as in Montreal, Quebec, which was the site of four previous (and lucrative) shows, Toronto's Air Canada Centre will host host UFC 140 on Dec. 10 .

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the event location with sources close to negotiations. ESPN first reported it.

I wish they'd go there during a warmer month.

They will eventually. I could see a 2012 summer event in Toronto, or maybe Ottawa.

It just seems like 9 out of 10 events close enough for me to attend are during the colder months. Why not have events in the south during the winter? Standing outside in line for anything in the cold sucks ass.

that's rough, u would think that coming further north in the winter would be hell to travel in but i guess not for the ufc. will this be the 1st major event in canada that
gsp is not headlining?

UFC 97 was headlined by Silva vs. Leites and UFC 113 was headlined by Machida vs. Shogun 2.

my best guess is the LHW belt. if Evans wins and the Bones/Rampage winner comes out injury free, i can see them putting it on the card.

i really hope this isnt the case, but Lesnar/Mir III might fit the bill. if that happens, i will not attend even though i live an hour away from Toronto

I wish they would come back to the pacific northwest. Last time (ufc 102) I had a girlfriend that controlled the finances that wouldn't let me buy tickets. Yeah I was whipped but she was smokin' hot
