I believe in Jorge Santiago. So much, that I decided to pick Jorge Santiago RD1 summation over Demian Maia. Remember everyone thought that Tito was going to lose against Bader.

Maia's jiu-jitsu is so good he can make mistakes others can't

Meh. I buy into that line of thinking.

Everything is impossible until it's done once.

Bader was a wrestler not protecting his neck. That's as common as waking up. A jiu-jitsu world champ getting submitted is as common as a supermodel asking you out. Not saying it will never happen but ill put the chances at around 5%

This is like when Drysdale said Griffin would sub Anderson Silva

That's the problem with these "UFC Quick Quotes". The titles are almost always misleading. A cheap ploy to create buzz...not a fan of them.

Lesser Bjj guys can submit better Bjj guys rolling around all the time. He can do it. I would bet that he keeps it standing instead, where he has a distinct and clear advantage.

While anything is possible, for example, Hughes submitted Ricardo Almeida even though, if I recall my facts correctly, Hughes doesn't even have a belt in BJJ. I may be mistaken, and maybe he does have some form of formal belt level that's been awarded to him. Probably a bad example because Hughes' JJ is very underrated because his reputation as a powerful wrestler overshadows his use of JJ when the fight does hit the ground, or when he's on his back. Anyway, it's time to get back on topic before my ADHD kicks into overdrive.

Santiago does have great BJJ, so if Maia were to make a mistake, it is possible, though very very very improbable. I think that if there is anybody in the MW division in MMA that would be most likely to be capable of submitting him, it would be Jacare, who has done it in the past in a BJJ competition if I recall correctly. Even then, it's not likely as BJJ competitions and MMA fights are much different animals, and I doubt either would submit the other. Man would I love to see that fight happen though.

If Santiago were to submit him, I think it would probably be under the circumstances of him having hurt Maia on the feet first. We've seen it multiple times in the past, and I believe one of the gracie's even have a quote about it, a BJJ guys sub defense gets quite a bit worse when they're hurt and their brain is trying to reconnect all the pathways and stabilize the balance and what not of the body, i.e. Torres vs Benavidez.

If he thinks he is gonna lose, he needs to find a new profession.

Maia has been subbed in BJJ competitions before, and Santiago is very good grappler and legit ATT BB. Crazier things have happened, but I'd take an avatar bet that Santiago won't submit Maia.

RD 1 summation made me lol. That's either a really bad typo (as in mulitiple faulty keystrokes) or Santiago will win via shitty rhetorical transition-to-conclusion phrase.
