Are you ready to accept Mike Pyle as your 170-pound prospect killer?
Well that's the role he's been cast as of late, what with the UFC setting up the 35-year-old war horse in match-ups against young guns like John Hathaway and Rory MacDonald.

He actually undershot on his trash-talk. Rory would've still been in elementary school when Pyle was fighting Rampage professionally.

I love Pyle, I think he's a stud who looked fantastic in his last fight, exploiting Hathaway's stiffness and lack of top control (from a technical perspective) while avoiding the clinch and ground-and-pound where he would've just been bullied and beaten up.
That said, Pyle's shown a weakness (over his entire career, not just in the UFC) against strong wrestlers, and MacDonald is a monster at 170 with superior movement and flexibility in comparison to Hathaway. Plus, MacDonald looked no less impressive in his last fight, completely owning Nate Diaz while pushing an excellent pace throughout.
Pyle's been saying his prior inconsistency was just him needing to get his mind right, so he may putting it all together and may run circles around the younger guy. My money's on MacDonald in a hell of a 3-rounder, but I wouldn't be overly shocked if Pyle pulls it out.

Man completely owning Diaz was an understatement...I actually thought one of those slams might break Diaz neck or back....That was in no way a good matchup...
