Unless your name is Randy Couture, attempting to launch a mixed-martial-arts career in your mid-30s isn't generally a great idea.

Of course, when you're a chiseled, 5-foot-10 light heavyweight and former Olympic wrestling silver medalist, you get to call the shots.

And so it is for Cuban-born monster Yoel Romero (4-0), an undefeated prospect who, at 34 years old, has one singular goal: to wrap the UFC's 205-pound belt around his waist.

Good luck against Jones. I honestly can barely see the next top 9 LHW having anychance.. besides it's been not too hard to get the belt, hard to keep it

Good call. I remember Antonio McKee saying before his fight with Volkmann that he was going to be champ by the end of this year. He was one and done.

Granted, a freestyle wrestling silver medalist in the 2000 Olympics sounds pretty good. But just because you have Olympic level wrestling game, that's not automatically a lock for success.

Dan Henderson and Matt Lindland are both Olympic level wrestlers. Matt actually won Silver in 2000, but look at where his career is in MMA right now compared to Hendo's.

He's the only man to beat Cael Sanderson twice.

Although Cael did catch him in the Semi's at the Olympics.

His stand up is pretty dam good for such a green fighter. Get him in the UFC and give him some lower guys and see how it goes.

Once again, the man has defeated Cael Sanderson, not once, but twice.

Cael has lost a total of like 5 times his entire career.

He is UFC worthy, unless you think Sanderson isn't.
