Former Strikeforce heavyweight Brett Rogers (11-3) claims he is innocent of all charges stemming from a June 28 arrest in Apple Valley, Minn.

Rogers' legal counsel today released a statement professing the fighter's belief he is not guilty of the three felonies and one gross misdemeanor filed against him following an alleged altercation with his wife.

No man, especially one the size of Brett Rogers, should ever strike, strangle or harm a women EVER!!! I know chicks can get crazy with all the arm swinging and stuff sometimes but the one thing you cant do is put your hands on them. I don't see how he gets these charges dismissed. He might plea down but he's in some pretty deep doo-doo

It is all part of a plan to aim for a plea bargain.

1. You claim innocence.

2. The District Attorney evaluates the case, the work and the money it would cost to send this case to trial. He or she will come back and make an offer for you to plea guilty. He or she will threaten you if the case does go to trial, he or she will aim for the maximum punishment.

3. The offer is for you to claim guilt and serve a minimal punishment which will probably be probation and a fine.

4. At this point, if you really do feel you are innocent, you remain steadfast and claim your innocence and the District Attorney will have no choice but to go to trial.

Something tells me, ncordless will come in here to correct me.
