Bjorn Rebney knows top-10 fighters don't grow on trees, and it's even rarer to find such free agents coming off a victory.

But despite the availability of Nate Marquardt, the Bellator chairman and CEO said the former UFC middleweight title challenger won't be headed to his organization anytime soon.

As he today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), Marquardt "just isn't a good fit" for the organization at this time.

I disagree Bjorn.....you need better ratings buddy, and Nate would help bolster your roster.

Nate doesn't fit in with a bunch of middle tier fighters in that organization
Nate would have been up their with alvarez as your highest profile fighter
And you can't afford him. But I love how bellator fighters were calling nate out and you won't even sign him

I kind of feel sorry for Marquardt. If he has no chance in the UFC/Strikeforce, and Bellator doesn't want him, then he's pretty much out of luck as far as money and competition goes.

I wouldn't be suprised to see him head back to Japan...possibly with DREAM or the new ONE FC.

Did everyone forget that Pro Elite also just re established business with signing arlovski and are at least a semi reputable US promotion. MFC also would chomp at the bit for a piece of Nate. Dream is the most likely of scenerios.

I say maybe a fight with Zaromskis is a good idea when he gets healthy.

I seriously doubt Pro Elite's comeback will last that long.

Then there would have been no need to even contemplate bringing him in. It's a typical response for "we couldn't agree on money".

i wouldnt risk hiring any juicers, but these therapy cheaters are in a grey area, because a dr gave it. but wahat is black and white is a fighter can't be above the acceptable testosterone level, if they are, than they cant fight, or get suspended afterwards. i think Nate got busted before and his coach should be taking a lil resonsibility also.

i thought they wanted Nate, nate must want more money, he shouldnt have gotten in trouble, he is the last guy that needs to cheat i think, and he needs to train with some wrestlers and bjj guys who will hold hum down and not leave any openings, and td defense.
