First it was Phil Davis, and then Lyoto Machida, and then Tito Ortiz.

UFC president Dana White was so desperate to find a replacement for injured Phil Davis that he considered scrapping a UFC 133 preliminary-card bout and promoting Vladimir Matyushenko to a UFC 133 headliner with Rashad Evans.

The article says Sonnen and Leben both volunteered. Leben would be a very weird fight for Rashad.

Thank God for Tito Ortiz.

That's what I said, could be an option.

Vlad/Evans Co-main, Franklin/Lil Nog Main, and could prolly have an easier time to find a replacement to face Alexander.

Sure it does. Franklin is coming off a loss and Rashad is supposed to be fighting for the title next. You can't be fighting guys coming off losses when you're in his position. At least Vladdy is coming off of two 1st round tko wins.

...they're not fighting. It was "in the works" if Tito and Machida both turned the fight down. Tito accepted.

Did Sonnen and Leben volunteered after Tito accepted the fight? Just curious...
