Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-5) vs. Rich Franklin (28-6)
Interesting match-up between 2 very well known fighters who could possibly be on the back-end of their careers. The loser of this fight will have lost 3 of his last 4 fights. I hate that for them bc I'm a fan of both bc I know the level of talent i believe they both still have & think they both can still be very relevant in mma today.
That being said, who ya got & why?

I'm taking Rich via TKO. He seems to be a every other fighter type of guy. I think he is due for something similar to his performance against the Ice Man. Lil Nog hasn't been impressive yet. I think Rich will understand what needs to be done in this fight and he'll drop Lil Nog and maybe finish with some GNP for the TKO. I do think this fight will send Lil Nog packing.

Finally Lil Nog won't be facing a wreslter since his debut against Cane.
I've got Lil Nog via TKO, with Franklin having like the 4 tko losses.

based on previous performance, Rich has looked better, but as Twenty20Dollars said, it'll be Nog's 1st fight in a while agaisnt a non-wrestler. I think the "previous-performance factor" is deceiving here & Nog takes it

Call me crazy but I see Nog clipping Franklin about half way through the first and finishing him off with punches.

Real tough one to call. I can see this going to a slow, lethargic decision for Rich or Nog taking a tko late in the second or third round. I was expecting a lot more out of Franklin when he took on Forest and with what seems to be a now re-occuring arm injury I don't think he's going to go out and make it a fire fight. i'll pick nog by a very thin hair.

I'm going to pick Franklin by a close decision, possibly a split decision. I think that Rich's unorthodox striking with his weird angles and all that might pose some problems for Nog, though I don't think it will really rattle him enough to throw him completely off, and he'll get his shots in too. I think the main difference in the fight for me is that I believe Nog may land more often with his solid boxing, but I think that Franklin with his unorthodox striking will land strikes that Nog might not see coming, and therefore, he'll land harder. Landing harder seems to really weigh heavily into a judges decision more than landing more frequently (see Paul Taylor vs Sam Stout). What I do find odd about the poll is that somebody has Franklin picked to sub Nog, but nobody has Nog picked to sub Franklin. Seriously? wtf? Maybe we've got a troll in our midst messing with our polls.

Although Nog has lost his last couple of fights, i think he's done a pretty impressive job at nullifying his opponents strengths.
But yeah against Franklin? No brainer, Rich loses this fight 90% of the time.

Nog boxing is better but I see Rich using his clicnch and cage control to win a close UD.
